925 Sterling Silver is a beautiful, durable metal, but it naturally tarnishes when exposed to air, moisture, and chemicals. Tarnishing is a normal reaction that can be easily prevented and reversed with proper care. At Iraabympj, we want your jewellery to last a lifetime, so follow these simple steps to keep it radiant.
Mix mild dish soap with warm water (never hot) in a bowl.
Soak your silver jewellery for 2–3 minutes. Do not leave it longer as moisture can damage stones.
Use a soft-bristled toothbrush or a cotton swab to gently clean intricate parts and crevices.
Rinse under lukewarm water to remove all soap residue. Avoid hot water as it can damage silver.
Pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth immediately. Never air-dry as water spots may form.
At Iraabympj, many of our pieces feature beautiful stones. These require extra care:
If your silver has tarnished (turned dark), use a silver polishing cloth or a mild silver cleaner. Rub gently in one direction until the shine returns. For oxidised/antique silver, do NOT polish – the dark finish is intentional.
Zip-lock bags or tarnish-resistant pouches prevent air exposure.
Different metals and stones scratch each other – store individually.
Place a small anti-tarnish paper strip in each bag for extra protection.
Lay chains flat, don't hang them – hanging stretches delicate chains.
